Nascentia Health Presents Annual Employee Recognition Awards

Nascentia Health’s 4th Annual Employee Recognition and Holiday Celebration was a huge success, with a group of more than 400 employees, family members and community leaders in attendance.

Held at the Turning Stone Resort Casino on Saturday, January 13, the event included a cocktail hour, formal dinner, dancing, games and gift basket raffles. The highlight of the evening, however, were the employee recognition awards presented to employees who made significant contributions to the system throughout the course of the year.

The 2017 honorees were:

Office Employee of the Year
Julie Muldoon, Patient Care Coordinator

In her two years with Nascentia Health, Julie’s commitment to quality and excellence has remained steadfast. Her pride in her work has proved infectious, and her calm and compassionate nature have made her a true asset to the system’s pediatric team. Julie treats her team members as family, taking the time to learn their strengths and weaknesses and offering support and guidance to help them meet their goals. She strives to develop positive relationships with the system’s business partners and is an unwavering advocate for the system and its mission.

Home Health Aide of the Year
Rosemarie Dristle, Home Health Aide

Rosemarie is a truly exceptional individual. Specialty trained in Alzheimer’s disease/dementia, mental health, hospice and pediatrics, she is one of Nascentia Health’s most well-rounded home health aides. She takes great pride in her work and holds herself to the highest standards of care. Rosemarie’s dedication and commitment to her patients and the system make her a role model for her peers. She has worked for Nascentia Health for nine years.

Alzheimer’s/Dementia Home Health Aide Specialist of the Year
Anastasia Mahany, Home Health Aide

Anastasia’s calm, compassionate and reassuring nature make her the perfect candidate for caring for patients with Alzheimer’s disease/dementia. She strives to provide the physical and emotional support her patients need to maintain their independence, always treating them with the utmost dignity and respect. Anastasia exemplifies the characteristics of an ideal home health aide and represents the profession in a positive and professional way. She has worked for Nascentia Health for four years.

Hospice Home Health Aide Specialist of the Year
Steven Nucci, Home Health Aide

Steve joined Nascentia Health in 2016 and completed his hospice specialty training in 2017. He provides truly exceptional end-of-life care, and his calm, compassionate and nurturing nature brings comfort to his patients and their families. Steve has an eye for detail, closely monitoring his patients’ conditions and promptly reporting any concerns he may have. He is a member of the system’s employee Care Council and often volunteers to assist at fundraising events.

Clinician (Non-Nursing) of the Year
Catherine Carter, Physical Therapist

Cathy is an exceptional employee who easily adapts to meet the changing needs of her pediatric patients and the system at large. She never hesitates to go above and beyond in her role, regularly rearranging her schedule to best meet her patients’ needs. Cathy’s commitment to providing superior care and her dedication to achieving positive outcomes have made her a go-to mentor for her colleagues and a true ambassador of the system’s mission. She has worked for Nascentia Health for two years.

Nurse of the Year
Terri LeMay, Registered Nurse

Terri handles a complex caseload in one of the system’s most diverse service areas. A competent, caring and reliable employee, she puts her patients’ needs above all else. She is a team player who is always willing to assist when needed, even volunteering to take on additional work upon completion of her daily caseload. Terri’s remarkable interpersonal communication skills, patience and professionalism are unparalleled. She has worked for Nascentia Health for one year.

Rookie of the Year
Joseph Parkhurst, IT Support Specialist

In his short time with Nascentia Health, Joe has proven to be a true asset to the system. Despite the stressful nature of his position, he always remains calm and composed, and his strong organizational skills and attention to detail allow him to efficiently and successfully manage the many projects he has on his plate. Joe exhibits an unparalleled willingness to learn more about his field, and his ambition is truly synonymous with the mission of Nascentia Health. He has worked for the system for seven months.

Rookie Clinician of the Year
JoAnne Abboud, Licensed Practical Nurse

In her ten months with Nascentia Health, JoAnne has consistently demonstrated her dedication to her patients, her peers, and the system as a whole. She is a dedicated team player who is always willing to take on additional work or assist her coworkers, and her compassionate nature and bright smile are appreciated by all. JoAnne takes great pride in her work, and her passion for helping others is obvious.

Outstanding Customer Service Persons of the Year
Courtney Anderson & Alexis Lerman, Care Coordinators

When Nascentia Health’s Managed Long-Term Care (MLTC) Program created the Care Coordinator position six months ago, Courtney and Alexis eagerly accepted the opportunity to take on the many responsibilities it entailed. Both possess superior organizational and personal communication skills, consistently meeting challenges head-on and offering creative ideas for meeting the needs of those they serve. Courtney and Alexis have worked for the system for one year.

Care Manager of the Year
Ann Jenner, Care Manager

Ann has been a Care Manager for Nascentia Health’s MLTC Program for two years. In addition to her 30 plus years of nursing experience, she possesses superior critical thinking skills and an intrinsic drive to do the right thing. She has volunteered her time and expertise as a member of the employee Care Council and serves as a role model and mentor for new employees. Ann strives for excellence in all she does, and her positive attitude and bright smile are appreciated by all.

President’s Award
Emily Dillon, Communications Specialist

Emily’s commitment to the system and its values is unwavering. She carries herself with the utmost integrity, and her performance always exceeds expectations. She rises to every challenge, striving to find creative and innovate solutions, and has made countless contributions to the betterment of the system. Emily is intelligent, driven and detail oriented, always taking a proactive approach and anticipating the needs of her colleagues. She has worked for Nascentia Health for seven years.

Awards were also presented to employees who have achieved employment milestones with the system (e.g., 5, 10, 15 or 20 years of service).
